When it comes to Honus Wagner, his T206 card is the hobby's Mona Lisa and garners nearly all headlines, but collectors are keenly aware of how special a single signed baseball from the legendary Pirates shortstop can be. Offered here is a delightful exemplar on a vintage red and blue-stitched Honus Wagner Official League ball which the Flying Dutchman has so courteously dated "4-13-1930" below his black fountain pen "J. Honus Wagner" signature (5/10) on the sweet spot. The ball shows the natural wear and soiling befitting of its pre-war age, and yet the core manufacturer stamps are perfectly legible. There is a notation in blue on the south panel that we can't quite make out ("For Seekers"?). In no way does it take away from the ball's superb quality. For those building the ultimate collection of singles from the inaugural Hall of Fame inductees, here's your cornerstone. In spite of his graciousness and relatively long life, very few Wagner singles like this exist in the hobby. Includes full LOAs from PSA/DNA and Beckett Authentication Services.
