On Feb. 6, 2011, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh
Steelers, 31-25, in Super Bowl XLV, which was played at AT&T Stadium
in Arlington, Texas. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers out-dueled fellow future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger, and was named the game’s MVP, capping off an amazing title run by the Pack as a Wild Card in the NFC.
This lot features a game-used official Super Bowl XLV NFL football,
complete with a silver and black Lombardi Trophy logo emblazoned on one
panel and the names of the two competing teams on another. One more
panel, in fact, is stamped “PACKERS” in black. What appears to be “wv”
is hand-marked in black Sharpie about the stamped Wilson “The Duke”
logo. According to the PSA/DNA letter, this was one of Green Bay’s
allotted game balls designated for Super Bowl action. The ball reveals
moderate game use with some scrapes showing, so it definitely saw some
action.
Includes COA from PSA/DNA.
