This lot features one of Mike Trout's game-used Old Hickory professional model bats from the 2017 season. The bat has been conclusively photo-matched by Sports Investors Authentication to a September 6th road contest against the Oakland A's in which Trout set an Angels franchise record by drawing a walk in his 14th straight game. After winning his second AL MVP in 2016, Trout started out the 2017 on fire once again. He was batting .337 with a team-leading 16 homers when he suffered a thumb injury before Memorial Day and was placed on the DL for the first time in his career. He ended up missing 39 games, returning after the All-Star break and still finishing with 33 homers and a .306 average. He led the American League in Slugging, OBP and OPS. It also marked the only season in his 13 year-career that the perennial All-Star centerfielder had more walks (94) than strikeouts (90).

This fantastic, uncracked piece of lumber displays outstanding use. Ball contact evidence include stitch impressions, ink transfers and white leather marks throughout the barrel. There are plenty of cleat marks as well as an impression from a weighted batting donut. The two-toned, 33.5" (33.2 oz.) Old Hickory Mike Trout model (#MT27*) maple bat sports a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper handle. Like most Trout gamers from this era, the handle is wrapped with 10.5 inches of blue/black Lizard Skins tape to enhance his grip. Trout has signed the barrel in near perfect 9-10/10 silver marker and added "17 G/U" to reflect the season used.

Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with perfect GU 10 grade. A hologram sticker (3022) from Anderson Authentics (Trout's memorabilia dealer at that time) is affixed to the knob. Autograph is pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
