“All Rise!” Since the beginning of the 2017 season, the Yankee faithful, along with the rest of the baseball world (except for maybe Boston fans), have been enamored with 25-year-old Aaron Judge. At 6’7” 282 lbs. he is one of the largest players ever to put on a uniform, and his 2017 campaign is certainly one of the biggest splashes ever made by a rookie. Judge’s remarkable first-half numbers—.329 BA, 30 HR, 66 RBI, 75 Runs, 1.039 OPS—earned him the starting right field spot for the American League All-Star team. It also gave him a berth in the Home Run Derby, which he won handily with a Herculean display of power at Marlins Park. Most importantly, Judge has recharged the Bronx Bombers and led them back to the postseason. After a slow start to the second half—perhaps from the alleged HR Derby curse—Judge erupted to club another 22 bombs and finish with 52, breaking Mark McGwire’s Major League rookie record of 49 set in 1987. He is a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year and could take home A.L. MVP honors as well.

Aaron Judge was born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley of central California, where he played his college ball at Fresno State. After his junior year in 2013 he was drafted in the first round by New York. Presented here is Aaron Judge’s first and only college game-worn jersey to hit the auction block. The home white jersey shows outstanding evidence of game use, with heavy soiling on the left shoulder and torso. The Nike knit shirt comes in his mammoth size 52 with tagging at the rear collar and left shirttail. The front has his No. 29 and “BULLDOGS” stitched in red on navy tackle twill, with a black Swoosh logo. A large No. 29 adorns the back. On the left sleeve is the Bulldog logo. On the right sleeve is the purple Mountain West Conference patch, which dates the jersey to Judge’s 2013 and final season when he batted .369 and clubbed 12 homers. We contacted the Fresno State equipment manager, who confirmed that Judge was the only Bulldog to wear No. 29 during his three years there. The jersey was sourced from a local Fresno collector with ties to the baseball team.
