The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics torch was designed and manufactured by Bombardier in collaboration with the Vancouver Organizing Committee. The fluid, crisp and cool white lines on the shaft reflect the lines left behind in snow and ice from winter sports. Special Canadian symbols have been placed on the torch. A maple leaf on the back metal section serves as an air intake hole to ensure the Olympic flame burns brightly. The 2010 Winter Games motto "With Glowing Hearts / Des plus brillants exploits" is engraved on the torch opposite where the flame burns. Made of a stainless steel and aluminum sheet molding compound, the torch measures 37 inches (94 cm) and weighs around 2 lbs. It presents with visible usage including a slight crack next to the Maple Leaf logo on stainless steel vertical sheet midway up the shaft. In addition, upper white section near the flame opening is somewhat loose and could use a simple glue repair.
