When he retired at the end of the 2014 MLB season, former New York Yankees Team Captain Derek Jeter had just set the team’s all-time hits record with 3,465 to his credit. It’s a mark that could very well stand for decades, possibly even longer. And in order to record more than 3,000 hits, a player needs to register quite a few plate appearances and in Jeter’s case, that number equated to 12,602. For each of his at-bats, Jeter needed to don a Yankees batting helmet.
This lot features a Derek Jeter autographed 2010 New York Yankees pro model batting helmet. The near-pristine condition Rawlings Authentic batting helmet includes the proper interior padding with the “Rawlings on Field Equipment” tag adhered to the inside of the dome. The iconic “NY” Yankees emblem adorns the front of the navy blue helmet in white. The Captain has signed the bill of the helmet in silver paint pen. His signature would rate 9/10 in our book.
Includes COA from Steiner and MLB Authentication sticker on the back of the helmet (#038097 FJ). Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
