This Philadelphia Phillies road grey gamer was worn by ace Pedro Martinez in 2009, his final campaign in a Cooperstown-worthy 18-year career that included 219 wins against only 100 losses, 3,154 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.93. An eight-time All-Star, he snagged three Cy Young Awards, and also earned a World Series ring in 2004. This handsome road jersey features the Majestic MLB Authentic Collection Size 46 tag applied to the front tail and small black embroidery “09” on a while tag on the inside by the buttons. Martinez’s No. 45 and player name are sewn to jersey in red-on-white tackle twill on the back, while "Phillies" is embroidered in red chenille over white tackle twill on the front of the jersey, along with the distinctive blue chenille stars over the “I’s.” The Martinez No. 45 is repeated in red-on-white tackle twill on the left sleeve directly above the embroidered Majestic logo. The black "HK" circular patch with white embroidery memorializing late broadcaster Harry Kalas is present on the chest. The shirt shows good game use and appears to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition. There is almost no appreciable fraying of the red tackle twill stitching; a blazing silver Sharpie Martinez autograph is applied to the top of the No. 5 on the shirt’s back, along with an inscription of “Cy 97-99-00,” indicating the three years of his Cy Young laurels.
