This gray New York Yankees road jersey was worn by Alex Rodriguez during the 2009 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Yankees wore their road uniforms at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia during games 3, 4, & 5 during the six-game World Series. The Yankees won 2 out of 3 of the away games in the series. During Game 3, Rodriguez hit a 2-run home run off of 2008 World Series MVP Cole Hamels to take the Yankees to an 8-5 victory. In Game 4, A-Rod hit an RBI double to break a 4-4 tie off of Brad Lidge to lead to team to a 7-4 victory. The Yankees lost Game 5 despite Rodriguez’s effort with two doubles, three RBI’s, and a run scored. New York finished the series as World Series Champions once again with a 7-3 victory on their home field in Game 6.
Offered here is a New York Yankees gray button-down road jersey with “NEW YORK” across the chest in classic Yankees colors. The number “13” is sewn on the back of the jersey in the same colors as the sewing on the front below an official MLB patch. The right sleeve features a 2009 World Series Patch and the left sleeve highlights a 2009 Yankee Stadium Inaugural patch. The Majestic jock tagging reads “48” denoting the size and “2009” for the year. The left chest below “YANKEES” is inscribed by Rodriguez with “#13”, “2009 World Series” & “Game Used” along with his autograph in black permanent marker to create an excellent display. A great piece from another historic World Series Championship for the Yankees. This lot is accompanied by a full LOA from Alex Rodriguez himself.
