From one of the NHL's greatest and most popular goaltenders comes this special piece of game-used memorabilia: a Jean-Sebastien Giguere Anaheim Mighty Ducks game-worn jersey from the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals vs. the New Jersey Devils. JSG was dominant during the 2003 playoffs in winning the coveted Conn Smythe Trophy as he posted a 15-6 record, 1.62 GAA and .945 save percentage - by far the best stats of any playoff goalie that year, even fewer losses than his Finals rival, Martin Brodeur! This coming off a 34-win season in which Giguere allowed only 2.3 goals per game. The Devils prevailed in a classic 7-game series, denying the Mighty Ducks their first cup. Still, it was a memorable run for the Ducks franchise that set the tone for a parabola of success in the coming years. Giguere played 9 seasons in Anaheim and retired following the 2013-14 season. He may very well wind up in the Hall of Fame someday.
The purple CCM size 60 road jersey has the Mighty Ducks logo sewn on the front and both shoulders along with the 2003 Stanley Cup patch crested over the right chest area. Giguere's #35 is sewn on both sleeves and on the back in white tackle twill with purple and teal piping. 'GIGUERE' on back is in white on a purple nameplate. There is also a KOHO brand logo patch sewn on the back above the letters. The jersey is goalie-style according to the neck tagging and has the 2002-2003 MeiGray inventory tag (coded A00193 for authenticity verification) in the hem. It shows light wear, with a black puck or contact mark at the front shirttail. Jersey presents beautifully with hardly any pilling or fraying and comes essentially as-issued. What an incredible offering for JSG fans and hockey collectors alike!
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
