The 2002 FIFA World Cup was hosted by South Korea and featured a world class performance by Brazilian National, Ronaldo during the Final. Ronaldo had a brace and led the Brazilians to their fifth World Cup Final victory in the National team's history. They defeated the European juggernaut, Germany 2-0 with both of The Phenomenon's goals coming in the second half. Ronaldo's performance sealed his FIFA World Cup Final MVP award, further solidifying him as one of the best to ever play the game. This lot features a team signed, match worn Ronaldo jersey from the 2002 World Cup Final and was supposed to have ended up in the hands of the Brazilian President, Fernando Henrique Cardoso as a gift. The jersey never made it to the President's desk and remained in the possession of one of the national team coordinators. The jersey boasts autographs from Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Lucio, Rivaldo and the rest of the team with several inscriptions that appear to be directed to the President with "Ao Presidente Da Republica FHC" and "Chefe-COR Pento - 2002" underneath a couple of the autographs. The size XL Nike jersey features "RONALDO" and his number "9" embossed on the reverse with the CBF patch sewn onto the front depicting 4 stars just above in recognition of the four World Cups the national team had previously won. The jersey is accompanied by an LOA from a Brazilian National Team Soccer Coordinator.
