The late Fidel Castro was a Cuban revolutionary and politician who governed the Republic of Cuba as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and then as President from 1976 to 2008. When he wasn’t fully engaged in the political arena, Castro fancied himself a baseball player and avid fan of the game. This lot features a Fidel Castro autographed 2002 Cuban National Team baseball cap (size L). The red Adidas, six-panel cap boasts a large embroidered white “C” on the front outlined in blue. Castro has signed the top of the bill in black fine-point marker. The signature is strong and perfectly centered. The consignor got this cap signed in person by Castro during a business trip to Cuba over a decade ago.
