Addendum: Year updated by Joh Taube of PSA/DNA to reflect bat order date. The only attribution to the 2001 World Series as stated in catalog is a COA from the dealer who originally sold it as such.

During the 2002 MLB season, New York Yankees Captain Derek Jeter batted .297 with 18 homers, 75 RBI and 124 runs scored and 32 stolen bases to earn another American League All-Star nod at shortstop. The Bronx Bombers won another A.L. East crown before bowing out to the eventual World Champion Anaheim Angels in the Division Series. This lot features one of Jeter's game used bats from that 2002 campaign.

The offered black ash Louisville Slugger is un-cracked with evidence of moderate to heavy use. It measures 34 inches long and weighs 31 ounces with ball contact marks and stitch impressions throughout the barrel as well as a moderate coat of Mota Stick on the handle. The Derek Jeter New York Yankees branded bat (model P72) has been autographed by Jeter on the barrel in 9/10 fine-point silver marker with the added "Game Used Mr. November" inscription. Spectacular example from the Yankees’ all-time leader in hits (3,465) and a member of the storied franchise's Mt. Rushmore of legends.

Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA graded GU 9.5. Steiner COA for game use. COA from Collectors Source which attests to bat being used by Jeter during 2001 World Series against Arizona; Taube has identified label period as 2002. MLB Auth. # MT00046539 attests to Jeter signing 6/26/2002. Full LOA from PSA/DNA for autograph and inscription.
