Following the 1999 season, slugging center-fielder Ken Griffey Jr. left Seattle for Cincinnati and changed his number from 24 to 30 in honor of his father, who wore that number with the Reds. His first year in Cincy saw him play in 145 games, hit .271 and smash 40 home runs. This is Ken Griffey Jr.’s Cincinnati Reds home knit vest from the 2000 season. On the left front tail of the vest is the "Russell Athletic" label with the size "48" and below is a label reading "Property of Cincinnati Reds 2000." Next to this is the "2" Extra Length" label. On the left breast is the Reds logo emblem and on the back is the name "Griffey." The player number "30" appears on both the right breast and on the back of the vest. The logo, letters and numbers are made of red/black/white tackle twill. On the back of the vest, at the neck, is the Major League Baseball logo patch. The vest shows moderate game-use and has no alterations of any kind. Junior’s matching undershirt remains with the vest.
