Retired pitcher Roger Clemens racked up 354 wins during the course of his 24-year MLB career while amassing over 300 career victories and 4000 career strikeouts. The 6’ 4” right-hander – nicknamed “Rocket” – was dominant and overpowering and earned a pair of World Series rings during his six seasons in the Bronx pitching for the New York Yankees. This home jersey from 1999 was game worn by The Rocket himself and features a special Joe DiMaggio Memorial #5 patch on his left sleeve. This is an extremely rare piece as Clemens wore #12 for only a short period of time as a New York Yankee before switching to #22 later in the season. The size 52 extra length Russell Athletic Jersey has an additional tagging on the front tail displaying “Clemens-99” just below the Authentic Diamond Collection tag. The jersey shows signs of heavy use and wash wear as some of the stitching on the numbering is frayed. The consignor of the Pinstripe Dynasty Collection attests to obtaining this shirt, among other game used items, from a reliable team source.
