Baseball's "Iron Man" and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. used this Louisville Slugger P72 model bat toward the end of his storied career in 1999. Ripken batted a career-best .340 that injury-riddled season, homering 18 times and making his 18th straight All-Star appearance for the American League. This black-coated ash club measures 35" and weighs 32.2 oz. with exceptional game use characteristics. Checking (grain swelling) is present on the back barrel. Ball marks and stitch impressions are present all over the barrel from repeated contact. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. This Ripken gamer is uncracked and has been assessed a perfect GU 10 grade by bat expert John Taube of PSA/DNA. Includes PSA/DNA LOA with the GU 10 paperwork as well as a letter of authenticity signed by Cal Ripken Jr. himself.
