The 1996 MLB season was the start of New York Yankees dynasty that won four World Series titles in five years. It was the 94th season for the franchise, on that saw them finish 92-70. This record earned the Yanks their first division title since 1981. New York defeated the Texas Rangers in the ALDS 3-1, then beat the Baltimore Orioles in the ALCS 4-1. Led by the likes of Derek Jeter, Paul O’Neill and Bernie Williams, the ’96 Bronx Bombers rebounded in the Fall Classic after going down two games to none to the Atlanta Braves. Incredibly, they won four straight to start them on their remarkable run.
