For the first time since 1981, the Yankees appeared in the post season, and their reappearance came with a bang. When Atlanta took the first two games, the Yankees with the “Core Four” of Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera and Posada pound it on and won the next four straight. The ’96 World Championship marked the beginning of the next great Yankees dynasty, and with the his club again on top of the baseball world, team owner George Steinbrenner had this 14K gold pendant and chain made for his daughter in law. The pendant mimics the player’s World Championship ring with a diamond encrusted “NY” logo mounted on a blue stone. “WORLD CHAMPIONS 1996” surrounds the piece in dimensional letters. The reverse of the pendant has a 14K hallmark and is suspended from a delicate gold chain. A unique piece that commemorates the beginning of one of the most dominant dynasties in sports history with provenance traced back to the team’s legendary owner.

Includes LOA from the former wife of Hal Steinbrenner, George's son and current team co-owner.
