NBA Hall of Famers John Stockton and Karl Malone carried the load in the 1996-97 season, leading the Jazz to their first NBA Finals, one of the high points for the legendary point guard who labored in Utah from 1984 to 2003. Stockton is regarded as one of the best point guards of all time, holding the NBA records for most career assists and steals by considerable margins. A 10-time NBA All-Star, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009. With that kind of monster pedigree comes this game-worn home jersey that was used during quite possibly the best season to-date in Utah Jazz history. Across the front is a silk-screened mountain background with highlighted “JAZZ” team name in split blue top on purple tackle twill bottom with white tackle twill outline lettering. Offset below is the player number “12” done in purple tackle twill on white outline on teal border tackle twill. Left front tail has the Utah Jazz team exclusive Champion manufacturer label with “BODY LENGTH +2" and adjacent Champion wash label with jersey Size 42. Inside the left tail is a “100% POLYESTER” material flag tag. Embroidered gold official NBA anniversary logo on the left front strap and player name “Stockton” arched in purple tackle twill letters across the top of the back with player number “12” centered largely below done in purple tackle twill on white outline on teal border tackle twill. Jersey appears to be in superb condition, essentially as-issued and problem-free, with only the tiniest whisper of any fraying of any of the stitching on letters or numbers.
