Pat Douglass coached college basketball for 29 seasons, starting with 6 years in D-II with Eastern Montana (now known as MSU-Billings), then 10 seasons at Cal-State Bakersfield (also D-II), culminating with 13 years at University of California-Irvine (D-1). He compiled an overall record of 559-291, going 197-191 in Division I while at UC-Irvine. But it was at Cal-State Bakersfield that he really left his mark, going 257-61 and winning 3 Division II National Championships. This lot includes both his 1992-93 Coach of the Year Award trophy as well as a framed plaque with a team-signed photo from that special season when he coached the Roadrunners to a perfect 33-0 record. The trophy features a gold-colored hollow brass basketball mounted on a curved wooden frame. "NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BASKETBALL COACHES - COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD - PRESENTED BY EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY" is engraved on one metal nameplate and "PAT DOUGLASS - CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY (BAKERSFIELD)" appears on the metal tag below. It presents in EX condition. The the framed plaque encloses an 8 x 10 team-signed photo of the CSUB team with a metal nameplate below that reads "COACH PAT DOUGLASS - IN RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AT CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD - 1993 NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS - HISTORICAL 33-0". The brown wooden frame measures approx. 13" by 13". It comes in pristine condition.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
