In 1991, Jesse Barfield collected 64 hits including 17 home runs for the New York Yankees in a limited role. This lot features a signed, inscribed and game-used bat that Barfield swung during that season, one in which the Yankees finished with an overall record of 71-91. The offered Rawlings Adirondack Jesse Barfield pro model bat measures in at 34.5” long and boasts plenty of pine tar on the handle, as well as bat rack marks and baseball contact marks throughout the barrel. Barfield has signed the barrel of the bat with a fine point black marker and added the following inscription: “1986 Home Run Champion,” referring to the season in which he led the American League with 40 home runs while playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. He also added his uniform number “29” next to his signature. "009 91" is engraved on the bat's knob which is also marked with Barfield's uniform number "29" is black marker.
