In 1990 the Oakland A's recorded an American League best 103 regular-season wins on their way to winning their third straight A.L. pennant. Managed by Tony La Russa, the A's were led by eventual Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson, who batted .325, belted 28 home runs and stole 65 bases, and the always productive "Bash Brothers," sluggers Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco. This lot features a 1990 A's A.L. Champions 10K gold ring that was a awarded to a team staff member. Crafted just like a player's version, there are a total of 31 points worth of real diamonds on the ring's attractive, elephant-themed green face. Intricate shank designs of an enameled A's team logo and raised-relief stadium are featured on either shank. The name "GOHLKE" appears on one shank, while the team's season attendance that year ("2,900,217") appears on the other. Raised gold lettering reading "OAKLAND AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" surrounds the top of the ring. The inside band is engraved "10K Jostens." The size 9 ring weighing 46 grams is in NM condition with some minor wear.
