Beautiful 14K gold 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers World Championship pendant given by Dodger center fielder John Shelby to his wife. The Dodgers defeated the heavily favored Oakland Athletics 4 games to 1 in the 1988 World Series. Pendant top is the same as the actual player's ring made by Balfour that year. Large real diamond atop a Dodger blue stone forms the design on the top with "1988 WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS" and a ring of smaller diamonds surrounding. Gold pendant is stamped with the Balfour logo and "Trina Shelby 14K" on the back. Shelby spent 3 full and one partial season with the Dodgers, being their starting center fielder from 1987 through 1989. In 1988 Shelby hit .263 with 10 HR and 64 RBI in 140 games for the World Champions. Weight 20 grams. A very attractive piece!
