Rodney Peete was the starting quarterback for the USC Trojans from 1986 to ‘88. He was the first player ever from USC to win the Johnny Unitas Award as the nation's best senior quarterback. In that same senior year, he finished second to Barry Sanders in the voting for the Heisman Trophy. This lot includes Peete’s game-worn Trojans No. 16 jersey and official Trojans Bike helmet from that memorable campaign. The jersey, which shows ample game use, has no manufacturer’s tagging on it, but does include the specially designed “100 Years of Athletic Excellence USC 1888 - 1988” logo that the Trojans wore that season. The helmet shows plenty of game usage with multiple scrapes and scuff marks and on the rear inside you can still read “PEETE 16” in faded black marker across the bottom of the neck. Just above either ear hole on the inside of the helmet is Peete’s No. “16” in red DYMO embossing tape. A pair of outstanding gamers from one of USC’s most successful quarterbacks in school history.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum as well as Letter of Authenticity from the USC Athletic Department.
