The 1988 World Series is best remembered for Kirk Gibson's dramatic game-winning homer off Oakland relief ace Dennis Eckersley in Game 1. The Dodgers went on to take the Series in five games over a favored Athletics squad that went 104-58 in the regular season. In the ALCS, the A's swept the Red Sox to claim the American League pennant.
Offered here is a beautiful 1988 Oakland A's American League Championship ring made with real diamonds just like the players. This very well-kept example was issued to a team employee. The face features "A's" spelled out with 12 diamonds atop a Kelly green stone surrounded by "OAKLAND 1988 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS". One shank has "FRANCHI", a raised image of the Athletics elephant, and a banner that reads "AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS". The other shank has "Athletics" in script, "A's-4 B-0", and a raised image of the Oakland-Alameda County Stadium. Inside is stamped "10K JOSTENS". Ring size 11-3/4. Weight 33 grams. Condition NM-MT/Mint.
