With five NBA rings to his credit, Magic Johnson was one of the greatest players in Los Angeles Lakers history. This lot includes Magic’s 1988-1989 Magic Johnson autographed and game-worn Lakers home jersey. This was the season in which the Lakers battled all the way back to the NBA Finals for the third straight year being losing to the Eastern Conference Champion Detroit Pistons. The MacGregor Sand Knit nylon jersey has four tags on the front, a large MacGregor Sand-Knit 42 size tag, a smaller tag above the size tag reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Los Angeles Lakers", a small tag indicating the year "88" and another indicating "2" LB" for an additional two inches of length. Light wear is evident inside the collar with light soiling and piling of the threads, additional wear indicators are evident on the front numbers and letters with light wear to the edges and threads. A perfect gamer for the serious Lakers fan or collector. Magic has signed the front of the jersey in black fine-point marker just below the “2” of the uniform No. 32. The signature is terrific and rates 9/10 in our book.
