The Iron Man of all iron men, Cal Ripken Jr. is best known for his 2,632 consecutive games streak but his 8,243 consecutive innings played will likely never come close to being matched. That unprecedented streak ended September 14, 1987, but Ripken's quest for Lou Gehrig’s record resumed when he was in the lineup the next day. Offered is Ripken's game used Rawlings Adirondack model CR8 bat from the 1987 season when Cal hit 27 homers and drove in 98 runs for the O's, continuing his streak of 20-HR seasons that would extend to ten straight (1982-91).

The bat shows evidence of heavy use and a crack from the upper handle into the barrel that has been professionally repaired. Plenty of ball marks and stitch impressions areon the left and back barrel while cleat marks can be found right and back barrel. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and Rawlings logo. A fantastic piece from baseball's contemporary Iron Horse. Includes LOA paperwork from John Taube with 8.5 GU grade.
