Robin Yount left everything on the field during his 20-year big league career with the Milwaukee Brewers. In fact, Yount left it all over the field – winning the American League Most Valuable Player Award at two positions and establishing himself as one of the most versatile players in history. Dating from the era of the Hall of Famer's second American League MVP season is this mid-1980’s signature model Louisville Slugger P72 is a fantastic specimen from the 3,000 Hit Club member. The bat shows excellent use with a healthy dose of pine tar and Yount’s custom tape job on the handle. Grain separation and a bit of deadwood on the back of the barrel is the result of tremendous punishment, yet the bat remains miraculously uncracked. Yount’s number "19" has been written over on the knob in black marker but can still be seen. A large unobstructed “19” also appears in the cupped end of the barrel in black marker. Definitely one of the nicest Yount bats from the era we’ve seen in the marketplace.
