Here are two color prints from a pair of extraordinary talents, merged here to provide images of the legendary Mickey Mantle. Michael Mellett uses color pencil and watercolor wash to produce breathtaking renditions of many of the greatest players in the game in his "Baseball's Greatest on One Field" Series of lithographs on elegant, museum-quality 80-lb. paper stock. The 20-by-24 lithograph is double matted to an imposing 27-by-29 inches, with protective plexiglass wood frame. The Mantle litho is a remarque, adding to the uniqueness of the artwork, with an pencil drawing depicting Mantle's 1956 Triple Crown exploits perched above the 97/1,000 edition size and Mellett's signature in the lower left.
Robert Stephen Simon's popular "Mickey At Night" print is offered here in the 25-by-19-inch print that is well known within the sports memorabilia hobby. Produced in 1986, it features a blazing blue Sharpie Mantle autograph near the center of the image.
