During the 1986-87 NBA season, the Detroit Pistons finished second in the Central Division with a record of 52-30. Led by 25-year-old All-Star point guard Isiah Thomas, the Pistons battled all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before bowing out in seven games to the Boston Celtics. For the season, Thomas averaged 20.6 points and 10 assists. "Zeke" would make 12 straight All-Star games from 1982-93 and is considered one of the greatest point guards in basketball history. He would taste championship champagne twice in his Hall of Fame career (1989 & '90) as the leader of the "Bad Boys."
This lot features a tremendous Isiah Thomas 1986-87 Detroit Pistons game-worn home jersey. The MacGregor Sand Knit size 40 white mesh jersey, showing moderate wear, includes screened-on identifiers ("PISTONS" and "11") on the front in red outlined in blue. Two different labels are sewn on to the left front tail: "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for DETROIT PISTONS"; and the "MacGregor SAND KNIT [size] 40." On the reverse, his last name "THOMAS" appears across the shoulders in blue. On the left shoulder can be found the official NBA embroidered logo-man patch. The Pistons trademark red, white and blue elastic knit adorns the collar and arm openings. A great piece of Pistons' memorabilia from arguably the franchise's greatest player of all-time.

Three different labels are sewn on to the left front tail: "89" exhibiting the year; "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for DETROIT PISTONS"; and the "MacGregor SAND KNIT [size] 40. On the reverse, which includes his last name across the shoulders in white, Thomas signed his name in silver on the first "1" in the uniform number. The matching mesh shorts have four corresponding labels in the waistline: ""89," "11," the Pistons exclusivity and the MacGregor Sand Knit [size] 32." A great, game-used uniform from one of the grittiest players the NBA has ever produced.
