The first 8 years of Dwight Gooden's pitching career had Hall of Fame written all over it. 1984 National League Rookie of the Year. 1985 National League Cy Young Award winner. An incredible 132-53 won-lost record. Then the injuries and personal problems caught up with him. The next 8 years saw him struggle to a 62-59 record, bouncing around to four other teams after leaving the Mets. Suspended part of 1994 and all of 1995, he never would regain the magic that was.
