Peter McNab donned this jersey during the 1985-1986 season. McNab’s father Max was the Devils’ general manager at the time and Peter did his father road by scoring 19 goals with 24 assists. After one more season with New Jersey, McNab transitioned to the broadcast booth and embarked on a whole new career as a color commentator.

McNab’s Devils jersey looks just as you’d expect from 15-year NHL veteran. The white home jersey has the “NJ” logo on the front in green and red tackle twill. The sleeve, neck and bottom of the jersey is trimmed in red and green. A Cosby Sportswear label is sewn inside the collar, the v-neck of which has been modified for more freedom of movement. A number “7” sits on both shoulders in green and red tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “McNAB” and his number “7” in green and red tackle twill and a CCM patch is sewn on the bottom left of the tail. The jersey retains the original “fight strap” sewn inside the back.

To describe this jersey as “game used” is an understatement - pounded is more like it. There are numerous clubhouse repairs of tears found throughout the piece. Many stains and abrasions from contact can be seen and the tackle twill has faded slightly from repeated laundering. There are numerous loose threads throughout and the tackle twill shows some puckering. This is what a real game used NHL jersey looks like.

This piece includes a signed letter of provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
