The Yankees of the late 1980's were led by All-Star first baseman Don Mattingly and Hall of Famer outfielders Dave Winfield and Rickey Henderson. In spite of accumulating the most total wins of any major league team during the 80's, the Yanks failed to win a World Series. In fact, it was the first decade since the 1910's in which the Yankees did not win at least two World Series. The Bombers led MLB in runs scored for the decade, but lacked sufficient starting pitching to win a championship. This lot includes five team balls (1985-89) each signed on OAL (Brown) balls.
