In 1984 the NBA tested the waters with an "All-Star Weekend" that centered around the annual All-Star Game, with a Legends Game and Slam Dunk Contest in Denver.

The fans responded favorably, especially to the dunk contest, which featured celebrated high flyers in the league at the time, including the iconic Julius Erving, Clyde "The Glide" Drexler, Darrell "Dr. Dunkenstein" Griffith, Michael Cooper, Orlando Woolridge (D. '12), Edgar "The Flying Helicopter" Jones, Ralph Sampson and Dominique "The Human Highlight Film" Wilkins. Larry Nance surprised some by capturing the crown against this elite competition.

Presented here is a signed basketball that features bold and eye pleasing signatures of all particpants in the dunk contest, the very first dunk competition linked with NBA All-Star weekend!

These hard to top autographs are backed by a Beckett LOA and from the personal collection of former President of NBA Properties Adrian De Groot.
