Patrick Ewing starred at center for the New York Knicks before ending his playing career with brief stints in Seattle and Orlando. He is widely regarded one of the greatest centers ever. Currently, he is the head coach of his alma mater, Georgetown University.

The Jamaican-American starred at Georgetown for four years, reaching the NCAA Championship game three times. In 2008 ESPN designated him the 16th greatest college basketball player of all time. He had a 17-year NBA career, predominantly playing for the New York Knicks where he was an 11-time all-star and named to seven All-NBA teams. The Knicks appeared in the NBA Finals twice (1994 and 1999) during his tenure. He won two Olympic gold medals as a member of the 1984 and 1992 United States Olympic basketball teams. Ewing was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996 and as one of the NBA's 75 Greatest Players in 2021. He is a two-time inductee into the Naismith Hall of Fame (2008 for his individual career and 2010 as a member of the 1992 Dream Team). His number 33 was retired by the Knicks in 2003.

Offered here is a crystal-clear 8x10 original photo, taken by photographer Kevin Reece, from a 1983 Georgetown game against Boston College. The rare, pre-rookie Type I photo of Ewing in his college uniform was used for publication in November of 1984 and hails from the Sporting News archives. Includes PSA/DNA Type I LOA.
