ADDENDUM: Graded A10 by MEARS. LOA now posted.
Presented here is a Los Angeles Dodgers home jersey worn by left-handed starting pitcher Jerry Reuss during the 1983 season. The steady southpaw spent nine seasons in L.A. (1979-87) and had 12 wins with a miniscule 2.94 ERA over 32 starts for the '83 NL West Division winners. Known as a practical jokester throughout his career, Reuss had 220 wins over 22 big-league seasons and made two All-Star teams. In 1980, he pitched a no-hitter and finished second in the NL Cy Young voting after going 18-6 with a 2.51 ERA.
The white knit jersey has the eye-catching "25th Season in Los Angeles" anniversary patch on the left sleeve. Solid wear throughout. The W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging appears behind the collar indicating size "46" and the numbers and letters are done in tackle twill. The shirt is all-original and shows moderate, evenly-distributed wear throughout, yielding a perfect MEARS A10 rating according to the evaluator's included LOA.
