The 1983 Orioles were blessed with two future Hall of Famers, first-baseman Eddie Murray and shortstop Cal Ripken in addition to a solid pitching staff that included Scott McGregor, Mike Boddicker, Mike Flanagan, and Storm Davis that led the AL in shutouts. Their offense was led by shortstop Cal Ripken Jr., the American League MVP, and first baseman Eddie Murray, the MVP runner-up. After defeating the Chicago White Sox in the 1983 ALCS, the Orioles went on to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies in a five game World Series. The offered ring was issued to Orioles scout Art Brophy. The size 9-1/4 ring is cast in yellow gold and features “World Champions 1983” in relief on the top perimeter. On the top center is a raised “Orioles” script logo set amidst 19 small diamonds. On the right shank are the 1983 World Series and Orioles logos in relief. On the left shank is the name “Brophy” in relief with a rendering of the World Series Trophy and a home plate in relief. EX-EX/MT condition with light to moderate overall wear and some minor scratches.
