In 1983, his second full season in the Majors, he hit .318 while leading the League in runs (121), hits (211) and doubles (47). That performance would help lead the Orioles to their first World Championship in 13 years. Offered is a two-tone 35 inch, 33.4-oz. Louisville Slugger game bat dating to that early period of his career.
This Louisville Slugger model P72 Cal Ripken, Jr. professional model bat is un-cracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left, front and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are cleat marks and bat rack streaks. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Cal Ripken, Jr.’s number 8 is written on the knob in black marker.
