The 6’ 10” four-time NBA All-Star wore this uniform set as a rookie with the 1981-82 San Diego Clippers. Although he wasn’t expected to be a consistent starter, injuries to the Clippers’ roster thrust Tom Chambers into the spotlight. The rookie surpassed any exceptions and led the team in points scored with an average of 17.2 per game.

The home jersey has “Clippers” across the front with Chambers’ number “22” below in blue and orange appliqué. The neck and arm openings are trimmed with blue and orange ribbing. The collar has a Spanjian size 46 label with an “XL” and cleaning instructions hang tag attached. The back has “CHAMBERS” above his number “22” in blue and orange appliqué. As you expect of the team’s highest scorer, the jersey shows heavy use with overall toning to the fabric and staining in places.

The matching white mesh shorts have nautical signal flags down each side that spell “C-L-I-P-P-E-R-S” and a Spanjian size 34 label with Chambers’ number “22” written in faded marker. The shorts retain the drawstring and like the jersey shows good use and toning throughout. A great uniform set from the Clippers’ short stay in San Diego. Style matches (possible photo-matches) available on Getty (i.e. 77458949 & 77458958). Nice era example from Bill Walton attached.

Includes a letter of provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
