The 1980 season would be the high point of Mike Schmidt's stellar career as he would lead the league in both home runs (48) and RBI (121) that season in addition to winning his fifth consecutive Gold Glove Award. He would continue to excel in the post-season as well, batting .381 with 2 home runs and 7 RBI in leading the Phillies to their first and only World's Championship. His greatest honor would come a few months later when he was named the National League's Most Valuable Player. This red ring Adirondack signature model "256X" was used by Schmidt during that MVP season and has been signed ("8") by him (vertically) on the barrel in blue marker. The year code "0" and batch code "043" are stamped on the knob. Schmidt's number "20" is written on the knob in black marker. The bat exhibits considerable use including tape, pine tar, ball and lace marks, and an 11" crack in the handle. An outstanding game bat used by Schmidt during the course of his greatest season.

LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with GU 9.5 grade.
