Hall of Fame slugger Dave Winfield played 22 seasons in the Big Leagues after being selected by the San Diego Padres with the 4th overall pick in the 1973 MLB Amateur Draft. He would go on to hit a total of 465 home runs, drive in 1,833 runs and bat a steady .283 while playing for a total of six teams. This lot features a game-used bat from Winfield’s arsenal that was during the 1980-83 period when he ended his 8-year run in San Diego and began his 9-year tenure with the New York Yankees. During this time-span, Winfield’s launched 102 home runs and drove in 377 runs.

The uncracked, 35-inch Dave Winfield Louisville Slugger professional model bat (W273) is made of ash, weighs 31.2 ounces and shows outstanding game use. It sports dozens of ball marks and ball stitch impressions throughout its barrel as well as multiple bat rack marks. By virtue of all the evidence of outstanding game use, this particular bat was certainly one of Winfield’s favorite tools of the trade.
