Lemuel Clarence "Bud" Houser won Olympic gold medals in the discus throw in 1924 and 1928 and in the shot put in 1924. This lot features the beautiful 10K gold ring he was awarded upon his induction into the USA National Track & Field Hall of Fame. The size 14.5 ring reads “NATIONAL TRACK & FIELD HALL OF FAME USA” around its face in raised lettering with a map of the United States boasting a single, small diamond. The outside of the face sports eight engraved figures representing various track & field events. Both shanks feature raised celebratory wreaths with “HOUSER” engraved on one side and “1979” on the other. The interior band is marked “JOSTENS 10K” and his name – “Bud Houser” is engraved.
