Roy White was a solid and steady contributor throughout 15 seasons of service for the New York Yankees. White joined the Yankees in 1965, just after the great dynasty had finally crumbled. In time, however, the fortunes of the Yankees would turn again, resulting in World Series appearances in 1976-77-78, the latter two years ending with World Championships over their old rivals the Dodgers. The offered grey road jersey was worn by Yankee Roy White during the 1979 season. In the neck of this road knit jersey is a gray patch embroidered "White 79 1" which is done in blue chain stitch. The numbers denote the year and set number, respectively. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "40." Across the front of the shirt is the team name "New York" and on the back is the player number "6." The number and letters are made of blue on white tackle twill. There is a black armband on the left sleeve commemorating the death of Thurman Munson. The jersey shows excellent game use with no visible alterations of any kind. Includes LOA from MEARS with perfect A10 grade.
