The New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League ended the 1977 season with a record of 15 wins and 11 losses for 140 points in the NASL's Eastern Division. They scored 60 goals over the course of the season, which would end up being the league's best. During the postseason, the Cosmos beat the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in the Conference semis and beat the Rochester Lancers in the Conference Championships. The Soccer Bowl of '77 was played between the New York Cosmos and Seattle Sounders, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Cosmos.

Offered in this lot is a 1977 New York Cosmos team signed soccer ball. The Sunsport soccer ball is highlighted by the most notable autograph on the ball, "Good Luck, Pele". Other notable autographs include Bobby Smith, Shep Messing, Roberto De Oliveira, Franz Beckenbauer, Werner Roth, Steve Hunt, Greg Kourtesis, Jomo Sono, Gary Etherington, Tony Field, and more. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
