Ron Cey hit 23 home runs, and was named to the National League All-Star team in 1976, the same year he put moderate wear on this Los Angeles Dodgers road jersey. Nicknamed "The Penguin" during his playing career, the six-time All-Star (1974-79)was part of the famed Dodgers infield that included Steve Garvey (first baseman), Davey Lopes (second baseman) and Bill Russell (shortstop). This quartet was the most enduring infield in baseball history, playing together as the Dodgers' starters for eight and a half years. In a 17-season career, Cey was a .261 hitter with 316 home runs and 1,139 RBI in 2,073 games. The offered shirt features royal blue tackle twill numerals and lettering that has been sewn directly on the back of this jersey that also has the league's Centennial patch on the left sleeve. There is some puckering evident on all lettering and numbers. The proper "W. Goodman and Sons [size] 42" tag is stitched on the neckline, and .5 of a point has been subtracted off the MEARS base grade of a 10, due to its missing top button. MEARS LOA (A9.5)
