The late “Pistol Pete” Maravich was a prolific scorer in college basketball as well as during his 10-year career in the NBA. In fact, he’s still the all-time leading NCAA Division I scorer with 3,667 points scored with an average of 44.2 points per game. This lot includes a Pete Maravich game-worn New Orleans Jazz jersey from the 1975-76 season in which Maravich averaged 25.9 points per game. On the left front tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions and jersey size “42”. Above that is an additional Medalist Sand-Knit tag that reads: “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the New Orleans Jazz.” Across the front is “JAZZ.” Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are painted on in purple. Player nickname “PISTOL” on the verso has been professionally restored in original looking purple tackle twill block letters. The jersey is properly tagged, and shows outstanding use. Comes with a letter explaining the jersey’s origin and how it came directly from the Maravich family.

Includes both a Letter of Provenance from a close family friend who was neighbors with Pete and Jackie (wife) Maravich in New Orleans as well as a GFC Auction LOA.
