If you want an iconic boxing piece that will light up any room, look no further. A rare massive and colorful advertising poster of the famous 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" World Heavyweight Championship fight in Zaire, Africa between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. It was the first heavyweight championship bout ever fought in Africa. Both fighters were former Olympic Gold Medal winners. The heavily-favored Foreman came in as the undefeated and undisputed champion, but he was no match in mind and body to the challenger. Using his patented "Rope-A-Dope" strategy, Muhammad Ali knocked out Foreman in the 8th round to take his title. The iconic triumph earned Ali many 1974 awards including "Fighter of the Year" by Ring Magazine and "Sportsman of the Year" by Sports Illustrated.

The over-sized poster measures approximately 39" by 47" and comes in a nice, simple black frame for final dimensions of 42.5" by 50.5" by 1" thick. The poster is printed in English and is not an-onsite poster from Zaire (those were printed in French), but it was printed in 1974. It is dated for the original scheduled fight date of Tuesday, September 24. Due to an injury to Foreman in training before the fight, the actual fight was pushed back over a month and took place on October 30. Thus, there are a few different versions out there. The poster comes in VG-EX condition and presents beautifully with the bright yellow and green design.
