From the legendary Hall of Famer Bob Gibson comes a 1974 home Cardinals jersey as ferocious and impregnable as the man who wore it. At the tail end of his Cooperstown-bound odyssey, Gibby wore this beauty in his penultimate campaign in 1974. The snowy white jersey shows good game use and flawless original features, as attested to by an A10 designation from MEARS. A Rawlings tag on the inside front of the shirt shows only a bit of curling on the corners; it is adjacent to a "Set 2, #8P, 1974' smaller tag. There is barely a whisper of fraying of the black or red stitching around any of the red tackle twill numbers front and back or the letters on the back, and the sleeves and trim around the collar are similarly pristine. The chenille stitching in the Cardinals cursive lettering on the front and in the bat and Birds front logo is no less impressive, with only a couple of tiny areas where there has been some barely perceptible separation of stitching. Gibson has added a big, bold black Sharpie signature directly above the Cardinals logo on the front. Truly a monster item that demands attention both for its beauty, originality and its rarity. LOA from MEARS (A10).
