Who can forget the image of Carlton Fisk's dramatic home run off the foul pole in the bottom of the 12th to win Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. For 24 seasons he toiled in the major leagues, 13 with the Chicago White Sox and 11 with the Boston Red Sox, mostly at the very demanding position of catcher. His 351 career home runs stands as the American League record. He was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1972 and in 2000 he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
