Under legendary coach John Wooden, UCLA won an unprecedented 10 NCAA championships, including seven consecutive (1966-73). Included in the string is one of the most amazing win streaks in all of sports, 38 straight NCAA tournament victories. In addition, there is the all-time NCAA consecutive winning-streak record of 88 games over four seasons, which included consecutive 30-0 seasons in 1971-72 and 1972-73. Swen Nater was a big part of the first of those two perfect seasons with the Bruins.
Offered here is Nater’s 1972 UCLA National Championship ring. Manufactured by Balfour in 10k gold, the size XX ring features a large blue stone at center encircled by “UCLA N.C.A.A. CHAMPIONS”. One shank features the years of UCLA’s previous NCAA titles (1964-71). The opposite side features the team name “BRUINS” above a basketball bearing the year “1972”. Nater’s initials “S.E.N.” are engraved on the inside band. The ring shows very light wear, retaining a resplendent original appearance. This is one of the most important and attractive college basketball rings we’ve handled. Weighs 24 grams. Includes a signed LOA from Swen Nater.
