This obscure, super-cool colorful NFL football set came out in 1972. I was a kid collecting EVERYTHING in 1972, and somehow these escaped me. I wasn't even aware of them until our consignor presented them to me recently. My jaw dropped.
For the vintage football collector that has (almost) everything, presented here is a PSA highly graded near set (31/35) and missing only Butkus, Eller, Jurgensen and Warfield.
Beckett calls them “Fabric Cards,” but they aren’t cards at all. They’re cloth, not cardboard, but here each is sturdily preserved in PSA encasement. These are patches that you could (and still can!) iron onto your clothes to impress your friends, although we advise not breaking the PSA seals to do that!
